Grant County Warrant RecordsGrant County Warrant Records

Grant County Warrant Records is a privately operated reference for finding the right public office in southwestern New Mexico. It explains the separate roles of the Sixth Judicial District Court, Grant Magistrate Divisions I and II, the four municipal courts, the Sheriff’s Office, police departments, and Corrections. It does not issue, serve, recall, or certify a warrant.

Why This Reference Exists

Grant County has no single public warrant database. A felony or general criminal record usually belongs with the Grant County District Court Clerk. A misdemeanor, DWI, traffic, or preliminary-hearing case may belong with Magistrate I in Silver City or Magistrate II in Bayard. Silver City, Bayard, Santa Clara, and Hurley municipal clerks keep their own city records.

Those distinctions matter when a person is checking their own status, helping a relative, requesting a copy, or trying to understand a court notice. The practical aim is to point each question to the office that can answer it.

What the Pages Provide

The reference pages describe New Mexico Case Lookup, court phone routes, Grant County IPRA requests, city court contacts, the limits of custody rosters, and the difference between a court record and a restricted law-enforcement entry. Local facts come from official court, county, municipal, legislative, and federal sources.

  • How to check a case when no single warrant portal exists
  • Which court holds a district, magistrate, or municipal file
  • What bench, arrest, traffic, and city warrant forms may show
  • How to request an existing record under New Mexico IPRA

Public sources can change. Court confirmation remains the final step.

What Cannot Be Done Here

This private reference cannot confirm a current warrant, recall a court order, accept bond, schedule a hearing, or provide legal advice. The Sheriff’s Office and dispatch can route some questions, but the issuing court controls court status. Corrections can address custody routing without deciding whether a warrant is cleared.

New Mexico Courts also distinguishes public case information from restricted law-enforcement and motor-vehicle records. A Case Lookup result is not a background check or a live warrant certificate.

Search Partners and Official Sources

Sponsored search elements may appear in the protected finder bands on record pages. They are not the Grant County court system. Official local sources include the Sixth District contact page, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the New Mexico Case Lookup, municipal court pages, and New Mexico’s IPRA materials.

Verify names, phone numbers, hours, fees, and procedures with the originating court or agency before relying on them.
